I was raised in Illinois and am a resident of Morris, Illinois. I earned my bachelors degree from the University of Illinois in Elementary Education. While teaching a third grade class, my principal asked if I would like to become a library media specialist for the new elementary school she was opening. I was thrilled about the opportunity and decided to become the school librarian at River View Elementary School in Plainfield, Illinois. I then earned my masters degree from St. Francis University in Reading Education. I became deeply interested in the library media field and decided to go for a doctorate degree at Northern Illinois University in DeKalb. I earned my doctorate in Educational Technology specializing in library media studies.
I recently retired from my position as a library media specialist from Plank Junior High in Oswego, Illinois. My recent public library position was at Morris Area Public Library as a Patron Services Associate.
My husband and I are residents of Morris, Illinois. My spouse recently retired from teaching middle school science and he currently works as a Patron Services Associate at Morris Area Public Library. We are both avid readers. We especially enjoy taking trips to Door County, Wisconsin or Lakeside, Michigan among other beachy places.
This site should provide a snapshot into the kinds of work I have done over the years. Included here is my resume. Also included here are projects that I created for students, library patrons and professional peers.
